MICRO SOCCER PROGRAM

Micro Soccer Program

Micro Soccer Program

The LCSC Micros Program consists of 2 age-defined divisions:   Micros Academy (U5/6), and Micros League (U7)

U5-U6 Micros Academy

  • Age 4 (U5) and Age 5 (U6)
  • Season is Sept - Oct (8 weeks)
  • Either M/W or T/Th sessions
  • NO games on Saturdays

All players registering in the U5 or U6 category will play in the Micros Academy. Players will be registered with a coed team (max roster size 8 players) and a volunteer (parent) coach.

LCSC Micros Academy will be twice a week, either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thur. Coaches will accompany their team through a series of practice stations consisting of interactive, "foot on the ball" exercises designed to develop fundamental soccer skills while having fun. Professional coach(es) will supervise the program. Academy players will not participate in weekend league play.

The Academy style maximizes "touches" on the ball in a fun and engaging way that is developmentally appropriate for your beginning soccer player.

Players only need to provide shin guards and a water bottle to play. Players will receive a LCSC team T-shirt to wear during weekly sessions. Medals/Trophies are awarded at the end of the season to all participants. Soccer cleats are recommended and a ball is helpful if players have them.

U7 Micros League

  • Age 6 (U7)
  • Practice - starts last week of August or first week of September (depending on coach and field availability)
  • Practices are once a week in Northeast Seattle, typically from 5-6, but occasionally from 6-7 in September
  • Practices are scheduled around coach availability. (Hint: If you want control of what day of the week your player practices, volunteer to coach!)
  • Season - September and October (8 games)
  • Games - Saturdays at Upper Jane Addams

Player will be registered with coed teams and a volunteer (parent) coach. Teams play league style. Practice during the week with a game on Saturday. Four on Four including a goalie. Parent participation is needed to help manage substitutions. Parents will also be refereeing the games. Teams compete against other Lake City teams where the emphasis is on skills development. Scores are not kept and there are no standings. Our goal will be an even split of boys and girls per team (maximum roster of 8).

Players only need to provide shin guards and a water bottle to play. All players will receive an LCSC team T-shirt to wear during practice/games. Medals are awarded at the end of the season to all participants. Soccer cleats are recommended and a ball is helpful if players have them.

We do not offer a program for age groups younger than 4. There are many options throughout the city for younger players that focus on age appropriate skills
